Teachers will work with and create accounts with Yola, Wix, Weebly, and Shutterfly. While working with these sites, teachers will create basic homepages for their classroom. Teachers will use this information to determine which site will best choice for their page and begin its organization.

Objectives:
1. Teachers will create accounts with four freeware websites to create initial classroom webpages.
2. Teachers will establish criteria for their own classroom website, establishing an audience, accessibility, components of interaction for students and parents, and an outline of intended content for the website.
3. Teachers will begin creating the classroom homepage.

Instructional Method: The workshop will be taught with a mix of presentation, using active links, and independent as well as guided exercises for the experimenting with websites.

Materials: Individual computers provided, website access.

Evaluation: Daily feedback will be in the form of a training exit slip.

Tuesday Agenda

8:00-9:30 Wake up, Rev Up, Review
Good morning welcome back. Please have your website organization requirements accessible. Please take time to complete the organizational form. Today we will use this information as a guide for creating the outline of key components of the classroom webpage. Each classroom will have a different page, as it should, however, some will have common components.
Some key factors each classroom website must address include: audiences (students and parents), assignments, calender, contact information.
Please suggest more key components.
Quality classroom website examples: please review the list on the overhead of quality classroom websites we found yesterday during Day 1 of the workshop.

9:30 - 11:00 Log On
For the next 1 1/2 hours, we will log onto two freeware websites and experiment with building a website. At this time we will not customize our pages, we will experiment.

Use this checklist for each website to see if you find these components, and experiment with each. You have plenty of time to experiment with the programs.
